We were so psyched for our Panama trip! After a couple months of planning it was finally here, woohoo! Everything was going SO smoothly, we actually were packed and ready a day ahead of time. Just when I thought it was all going so smoothly a huge storm front was moving across the East Coast. Time for Plan B.
We were supposed to be flying through JFK on our way down to Miami and then onto Panama City but with a big storm threatening to dump snow and close airports, it wasn't looking good. We made a couple phone calls to American Airlines, the first of which ended with Keith being transfered to book a hotel in Heathrow and then calling back to be told our tickets couldn't be changed. After speaking to a supervisor and explaining that we had originally been told we could change and in fact were told to book a hotel first, the supervisor did some magic and got us on an evening flight to London. Considering we were supposed to leave tomorrow, thank goodness we were pretty much ready to go today!
We checked the dogs and cat into the kennel, closed up the house and soon were on our way to Rome with enough time for a nice appetizer at the Frescobaldi wine bar at the airport. In no time we were on our way to London and checking into the Premier Hotel at the airport.
Tomorrow we would be on our way to Miami, for a good 40 hour visit with good friends before taking off on Friday to Panama.
Woohoo, let the vacation begin!!! Where there is a will there definitely is a way! |

What amazing photos, thanks for sharing. I can't wait to show Siv and Annika. Although they will be green with envy. Did you run into any crocodiles..I did not finish with all the photos so I can't wait to see if some got eaten by any crocodiles or paronias!!  |
