My almost week long visit with my parents had gone by rather fast! I couldn't believe that I was heading back to Italy tomorrow.
I was sorry that I had only arranged to stay for a week; originally I thought it would be a bit too intrusive since my parents were still going into work and I didn't want to mess up their schedule. I ended up feeling like it wasn't too much of an imposition and I enjoyed my time with them. We spent a lazy Saturday enjoying the absolutely gorgeous weather and going on several walks around town. The views from the port of Edmonds were spectacular, looking out at the islands and peninsula in Puget Sound. We had a tasty dinner at our favorite little sushi bar in Lynnwood, stuffing ourselves silly with all the delectable dishes. We were so stuffed satisfied from dinner that we decided to take one last family walk was in order for the evening. Being that it was quite chilly out we all bundled up and Dad brought out his warmest hat, a Russian road-kill hat I brought back for him from St. Petersburg. Mom refuses to let him wear it or be seen with him because she thinks it is horrible so Dad took advantage of my presence and bravely wore it. It took her a while to warm up to it and walk on the same side of the street as he did but she finally came around although it was in the parts of town where there wasn't much lighting. I'm really looking forward to my parents coming to Italy, hopefully later this year. I'll be sure to ask Dad to bring his Russian fur hat; he'll be the talk of the town!|
Favorite Spot Written by racasey4 on 2008-05-25 12:38:15 So happy you had wonderful weather while visiting - my home town too. This bench is a favorite of mine during lunch time away from the office. Sheryl |
