I'll be the first to admit that I am a SERIOUS gadget junkie.

I squirm every time a new computer, camera, mp3 player, television, or just some type of new technology comes out.  It is all I can do to have the self restraint to not buy up everything "techie" as soon as it comes out.  The good news is that I also research the crap out of everything so by the time I make the decision to actually buy something I am very secure in what I am getting myself into.

So this leads me to mention my latest "gadget" which at first makes me wonder which one I should talk about, but then I focus back to the whole point of this particular post and that is to mention my new beloved Sony Reader.

I LOVE to read and given any spare moment I will have my nose in a book.  Living in Italy has severely affected my reading habits because I have to either port a ton of books back with me in my suitcase or buy them from Amazon UK at a really inflated price due to the exchange rate.  I also have the hindrance of reading fast which makes me go through books a lot faster than most people which really stinks when I am trying to make the few books I have on hand last for a while.

Keith suggested I get a "reader" just before coming back to Italy which I immediately jumped on pretty much because I really just wanted a new gadget to play with.  After a lot of research I chose the Sony Reader, passing on Amazon's one only because I wouldn't be able to even use the wifi function to download daily periodicals.

I have been EXTREMELY happy with the Sony Reader.  Not only is it very similar to reading a book, at first I had to stop myself from physically turning the pages!  It is very easy to use and holds quite a few books, more than I can read in a few months, in its base memory.  And, it actually is more convenient to stow in a purse than a book, so it is easy to bring with me anywhere I go and lasts for 30 hours on a charge, which I do via USB cable.

So, there is my hot tip for the day, my new constant companion, the Sony Reader!
