Our little getaway to Barcelona was coming to an end!  We had just a few hours to spend with our friends before heading back to Italy.

We met up near the Sagrada Familia church and grabbed a nice little breakfast at a very local cafe.

We hopped on the subway to visit one our Gaudi's fantastic creations, the Casa Mila.

The house is really stunning piece of architecture.  We still have yet to tour the inside but it is worth it just to gaze at the outside structure.

We wandered around together as the streets filled up again with hordes of people all out strolling along.

All too soon it was time to say goodbye to our friends as they needed to board the cruise they would be on for the next couple of weeks.  Lucky stiffs!  We were tempted to stow away in their bags.  Instead, we headed back to our hotel, hitting the local supermarket first to fill up on Spanish cheeses and salamis to bring back to Italy.

We didn't realize that it was a holiday and it took forever for a cab to come pick us up to take us to the airport.  Luckily we had a really nice cab driver who chatted the whole way but drove quickly to get us to the airport in time.  In time for a flight that ended up being delayed another 3 hours because they had no plane for us!  We hung out at the airport and Keith surfed the Internet while I shopped and we finally left for Rome after 9:30 p.m.  We had to grab cheap hotel near the train station as it was too late to make a train.

We crashed and planned on a mid morning train to return back to our "casa bel posto".
