It was our last day in Munich with our friends Claire and Mike. We planned on spending the morning perusing the Deutsche Museum of Transportation.
I'll have to admit that I would have been happier just going shopping, but I felt the need to get a little culture in my diet and I wanted to spend as much time as we had left with our friends and they were really excited about visiting the museum.

Before you think less of me, perhaps I should explain myself. The last time we were in Munich, Keith wanted to go to the Deutsche Museum, the six story one located on an island in the middle of the river. We spent 5 or 6 hours there and by then end of it my head was so filled with information I had to pull out my hair to make room for it all. Yep, it was that good. So now I have a bit of a fear of going to museums with Keith, but I was willing to give it another try.
The museum pretty much documented the history of transportation and had examples of a wide variety of vehicles.

They even had a building with full size train cars that you could go inside of showing how they evolved over time.

I know our friend Marino, who collects classic cars, would have been salivating at the sight of all these perfectly preserved cars.

After our museum visit we went back to the "zentrum" (center) of Munich for one last meal together and made sure it was a good one! Keith looked up a restaurant specializing in sausages, most importantly the Nuremburger kind he likes so much.

You would think after 4 straight days of eating sausage we would be sick of it but not yet! I also took advantage of having another lovely, warm, soft pretzel dipped in the sweet Bavarian mustard.

The restaurant was pretty old school and I think we might have been the only tourists there. Who cares?! The beer was tasty and refreshing, the food was great and the company was divine!

It was time for us all to get back to the hotel and collect our bags; Keith and I were heading out for one night in Salzburg, and Claire and Mike were heading up to Stuttgart to visit her brother. It was a sad goodbye but made a little better by all of the fun adventures we had just experienced together over the last several days.
On to Salzburg!
