From the very first time I ever met them, Keith's grandparents have always made me welcome in their life.  With all our busy schedules we really don't get to see his grandfather all that much but made an effort to get at least a dinner in before we went back to Italy.

We took his grandfather to my latest favorite restaurant in the area, Cafe R&D at Fashion Island.  They have a limited menu but amazing flavorful food and their sides of deviled eggs and potato salad are to die for.

It was nice to catch up and fill Keith's grandfather in on our life and find out what he had been up to.  There still is something a little strange about taking one's grandparents to dinner that just reminds you of still being a kid but also making you feel very grown up!



Finally, having more than two people, I insited on ordering the carrot cake for dessert.  It was REALLY good and more than the three of us could even finish although I would have liked the cream cheese frosting to be more cheesier than it was.  It still was GOOD!
